Both can be helpful. Use this to decide what kind of support you’re looking for.

Counselor

  • Often works with mental health concerns
  • May explore your past and patterns
  • Can include feelings/emotions as part of the work
  • May be in-person and/or covered by insurance

Coach

  • Often focuses on goals, actions, and results
  • Typically future-focused (plans + accountability)
  • Often delivered online (location may not matter)
  • Usually private-pay (out-of-pocket)
