Mental Freedom® for Counselors

Meaningful conversation with people who understand the work.

Counselors spend much of their professional lives helping other people navigate difficult experiences, relationships, choices, and change.

The Mental Freedom® Circle for Counselors creates a space for counselors and mental health professionals to turn that same thoughtful attention toward the work we do—and toward ourselves as the people doing it.

This isn't another course, clinical supervision, or a series of lectures. It's a small, facilitated group where counselors can talk honestly about the challenges of the work, learn from one another, and explore how the six Mental Freedom® principles apply both professionally and personally.

Six monthly 90-minute sessions | $197 | 9 Illinois CE hours available

What Might We Talk About?

The conversation will grow from the experiences and interests of the people in the Circle rather than following a prescribed curriculum.

We may explore questions such as:

  • How do we support client agency without assuming responsibility for client outcomes?
  • What happens in us when clients make choices we don't believe will serve them?
  • How do we remain compassionate without overextending ourselves?
  • How do our own stories, expectations, and emotional signals show up in our work?
  • How can Mental Freedom® support healthier professional boundaries?
  • How do we remain emotionally grounded when the work itself is difficult?
  • How might the six Mental Freedom® principles complement the work we're already doing with clients?

Participants will also have opportunities to bring real-life professional situations to the Circle for reflection and conversation.

This Is a Circle, Not Another Training

Mental Freedom® Circles are built around application rather than teaching.

I'll provide enough context to keep Mental Freedom® at the center of our conversations, but we won't spend our time working through slides or listening to lectures.

We'll talk. We'll ask questions. We'll explore different perspectives. We'll learn from one another. And we'll consider how Mental Freedom® applies to situations counselors actually encounter.
